Welcome to the National Disabled Fire Association
The National Disabled Fire Association (NDFA) supports disabled people working in the fire service, those wanting to join the fire service and fire service employers. We provide advice on how to ensure thatall disabled staff are able to contribute fully to the work of the UK Fire and Rescue Service. We support operational and non-operational staff alike. Our mission statement is:
"To champion the social model of disability through an informed, supportive, consistent, and defensible approach to disability in the UK Fire and Rescue Service and the communities it serves".
We are run by disabled people and we believe that whatever impairment, disability or long-term health condition a person has, they should be able to enjoy a fulfilling and rewarding career in the Fire Service.
